ELIGIBILITY for CASA

To be eligible for coordinated entry, one must meet the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development definition of currently homeless or must be at risk of losing their housing within 14 days. The following are examples of persons who would be eligible for coordinated entry:

  • Persons staying on the street, park, alley, car, storage unit, tent city, etc.
  • Persons staying in a Homeless Shelter
  • Persons staying temporarily in a hotel/motel paid by a government agency or non-profit organization
  • Persons fleeing a documented Domestic Violence situation
  • Persons who are being asked to leave a shared residence within the next two weeks

It is a persons’s homeless status, not level or lack of income, that determines eligibility for homeless services
